The Last Generation of Toys R Us Kids

Like most of you, we heard the news this week about Toys ‘R Us closing their stores. It made me think back to when I was a little girl and how much I loved going to the mega toy store!! Walking through those double doors and seeing rows and rows of toys was always super exciting! From Barbie to legos, power wheels to Pretty Pretty Princesses, I have so many memories walking around this store.

So today, after preschool, my son and I went to our local store and played for some time. I watched as he went from toy to toy, saying “Mama, watch this!!” or “Mama press this button”. It made me sad that the era of this store is coming to an end. So I made sure to bring my camera along to capture maybe our last time in this store that brings back so many childhood memories for me. Traditions end and new ones begin, but for today “I never want to grow up, I’m a Toys R Us kid. There’s a million toys in Toys R Us that I can play with!!!”

So, we said our proper goodbyes to Toys R Us and walked out as the last generation of Toys R Us kids!!  A sincere thank you for the memories Toys R Us!!!!
