Mackenzie and Matt | Romantic Charleston Engagement Session

Romantic Charleston Engagement Session

[dropcap]I[/dropcap] will say, the odds kind of seemed against us for this engagement session! Which makes it even sweeter when it turns out to be one of the most amazing sessions to date. Mackenzie and Matt drove into Charleston from Columbia for their session. Standstill traffic awaited them as they got closer to the Holy City, but backroads and a determined couple was not going to stop us. When they rounded that corner on Meeting St and I got a glimpse of this dress, I wanted to jump up and down right there in front of the Mills House bellhop.

As we made our way to some of my favorite spots, we chatted about all things wedding planning, how these two met and how Matt proposed. Matt dropped to one knee in Charlotte with all of the skyline behind them to ask the love of his life the most important question. And judging from the proposal snaps Mackenzie’s friends captured that day, I think the whole city of Charlotte heard her say YES!!

As we found downtown’s most romantic spots, I couldn’t stop gushing over how these two made it so easy on me. I tell everyone at the beginning two things. One, you can not mess it up! And two, have fun and be in love and I will take care of the rest. And these two knocked it out of the park. Mackenzie has a laugh that is contagious, you just have to join her in her joy. Matt has a reserved nature about him, but man does Mackenzie bring out that sparkle in his eyes.

Now I know I say that I am blessed with every couple that I get to serve and love on. And I mean it every single time. But these two took it to a whole other level. I admit, I get REALLY excited when I see a vision in my head coming to reality during a session. As I helped get Mackenzie and Matt into place and started to back up to get a really wide shot, I felt something stop both of my feet dead in their tracks. My camera bag! And before I knew it, I was flat on my back on the shell path around White Point Garden. These two were so kind to keep asking if I was ok! Which I was, thankfully! But they were so sweet to check on me and to finish their engagement session like rock stars!

Mackenzie and Matt, I am SO excited to see you both again at your wedding in May! I can not wait to laugh with you both, hopefully keeping both feet on the ground. But promising to get just as excited as I was at your engagement session! I adore you both, and feel so blessed to be on this journey with you!
