Courtney and Thomas | A Cedar Room Wedding

[dropcap]D[/dropcap]o you believe in fate? I know that I believe that things happen for a reason! And when I talked to Courtney a little over a year ago on the phone, I had goosebumps. While chatting with Courtney about her and her fiancé Thomas, I found out that they met in a chance encounter at a concert in Ft Benning GA! I was so excited to share with Courtney that I had spent time with my sister and her family in Ft Benning! And while telling Courtney about my sister’s family, I explained that they had just moved back from Germany! They had spent some time in a small military base called Hohenfels! This is when goosebumps happened again!

You see, Courtney and Thomas met at a concert! Courtney was in college and Thomas was serving in the Army. Thomas was not even supposed to be there! He was already supposed to be living in Germany. These two literally bumped into each other! It feels like fate had a hand in this first encounter! A short while later, Thomas moved to Germany and they continued their relationship long distanced! Thomas moved to a small military base called Hohenfels! Y’all! Courtney could not believe that I knew where this town in Germany was. And just as her and Thomas’ encounter was fate, I truly believe that fate had a hand in bringing them into my life too!

Last Saturday, I walked into Courtney’s hotel room and was met with the biggest smile and hug you could ever want! It was time for their wedding day at Summerall Chapel and Cedar Room! And y’all, this year with so many obstacles was not going to stop Courteney and Thomas from saying “I Do”! Thomas graduated from The Citadel, and it was only fitting that these two marry in Summerall Chapel. As the doors swung open, and Courtney and her dad entered through the sunlight streaming down the aisle, I looked over my shoulder to get a glimpse of Thomas seeing his bride for the first time. I watched as he rocked up onto his tippy toes in anticipation as Courtney walked closer. It’s hard to not cry from pure happiness seeing these two beaming from ear to ear.

Courtney and Thomas walked out of Summerall Chapel as Mr and Mrs McGuire and were met with a sword arch and a surprise from Thomas’ dad. His dad brought his fully restored Cutlass to the Chapel for Courtney and Thomas to ride in to their reception at Cedar Room! Talk about an amazing getaway car! When we arrived at Cedar Room, Courtney and Thomas got first glimpse at the magic Charleston Weddings by Allison had been creating for them. Candlelit table, gorgeous florals and gold chivari chairs met us as we entered their reception space.

It was time for the party to start! Mr and Mrs McGuire entered their reception to meet their guests with the most beautiful first dance I have ever seen. Courtney’s dress was made for twirling. And when it was time for dad to dance with his little girl, I swear there was not a dry eye in the room. Courtney and her dad had the sweetest choreographed dance! And it is a memory that I know that they will keep with them forever. During toasts, I watched as Courtney and Thomas would lean in and laugh together. I listened as their friends and family described Courtney and Thomas. And it became even more evident why I love these two. They both have the biggest hearts, they both serve others, and they both love their family and friends with their whole heart. And when it was time to start dancing, Emerald Empire band had them all out on the floor. I am telling you the dance floor was shaking at this Cedar Room wedding!

Courtney and Thomas, I can not thank you enough for letting me be on this journey with y’all! From the first day that I met you, I knew immediately that y’all were so special! And I feel truly honored to be the one to help you relive one of the best wedding days I have ever been a part of! I love you Mr and Mrs McGuire! And I know that our journey together isn’t over as I continue to cheer you on as husband and wife! XO Natasha
