Makenzi & David | Engaged

[dropcap]I[/dropcap] remember getting an enthusiastic message on Instagram a few months ago from a bride to be! She was hopeful that I would still be available for her wedding date! Her energy was contagious and I was so excited to let her know that I was available. Makenzi and I quickly hopped on the phone! She was so excited to tell me about her fiancé, David! And I was thrilled to tell her that they would be my second Makenzi and David, and that she was one of three Mackenzie’s that I get to help make wedding photography dreams come true with! It was like the stars aligned!

Makenzi and David met in the political world that they both work in at a conference! They exchanged information and later found each other on social media. There was an immediate connection and they were soon talking over FaceTime for hours! They started their long distance relationship, with weekends visiting each other! Makenzi eventually moved from Texas to Washington DC to work on Capitol Hill! Such a huge accomplishment!! David went to DC to visit Makenzi and she took him on a tour of the Capitol. During their tour they entered the House Chamber and as David walked through the doors that so many presidents before him had, he got down on one knee to ask Makenzi to marry him!

As you can imagine Makenzi and David love history! They got engaged in one of the most historical sites in the country! So when rain kept delaying our plans to have their engagement session in Asheville, where they will be getting married this year, we decided to move their engagement session to one of my favorite historical cities. Makenzi had never been to Charleston, so I was over the moon excited to show her and David around. We walked on cobblestones that are hundreds of years old. We strolled by the oldest home in Charleston. And we ended at the Battery that over looks Fort Sumter, where the Civil War began in 1865. I don’t think anything could have been more fitting for these History lovers!!

Makenzi and David, I can not wait for your wedding day in November.
