Spring Lowndes Grove Wedding
This spring Lowndes Grove wedding was everything Mackenzie and David dreamed of! From the sweetest first look with Rory, their golden retriever, to their tearful vows under the oaks, these moments will never be forgotten. And, I don’t think anyone will stop talking about the cutest first dance that these two had planned for weeks to come.
Two and a half years ago I welcomed Mackenzie and David into my little family of couples. These two high school sweethearts planned for a May 2020 wedding day, but boy did things change. Last year, on their would be wedding day, Mackenzie and David came to Charleston with their family. They took the day to deliver the sweetest gifts to their planner and myself. On their wedding day! Mackenzie and David are thoughtful in a way that makes everyone around them feel so special and loved.
It felt like Christmas morning driving into Lowndes Grove. Mackenzie and David had waited so graciously for their wedding day, and it could not have been more perfect. There were so many sentimental details sprinkled throughout this spring Lowndes Grove wedding. I was so touched that Mackenzie’s robe was made out of her mom’s wedding gown. It was beautiful!
First Looks at Lowndes Grove
There were several first looks at this wedding and each one was so special. First, Mackenzie shared a first look with her dad. His eyes just lit up when he saw his baby girl standing there in her gorgeous wedding gown. Then, outside the steps of Lowndes Grove, David turned around to finally see his bride to be. He was grinning ear to ear! After a few couple portraits, these two shared a first look with their dog, Rory! That fury pup, with a collar decorated in greenery, ran straight to Mackenzie and David who were waiting for her out on the perfectly manicured lawn under the live oak trees.
The Bridal Party
With the sweetest bridesmaids and groomsmen cheering them on, we roamed the lovely grounds capturing joy and laughter amongst the best of friends. Mackenzie and David were able to share some moments alone along the way for couple portraits.
The Outdoor Ceremony
With Mackenzie’s father walking her down the aisle, and Rory having her own moment, the most intimate of ceremonies took place under the live oak trees.
The Reception at Lowndes Grove
What a beautiful reception this was! A unique escort display, signature cocktails and guests that danced the night away made for the perfect ending to a fabulous day. After sunset portraits and more dancing, Mackenzie and David made their grand exit through two lines of cheering guests. It was the loveliest of celebrations!
Mackenzie and David, I have known since we first connected over Gilmore Girls, spending three hours driving around Charleston for your engagement session and eating at BBQ on Sullivan’s Island that we were meant to be. I feel incredibly honored to have been on this journey with y’all the last 2.5 years and cannot wait to continue to celebrate your lives together. I love you both, and your family and friends dearly! Congratulations Mr. & Mrs. Meyer! The best is yet to come.
