How to Add Still Images to Instagram Reels or Tik Tok with Canva

How to Add Still Images to Reels with Canva shared by business educator focusing on social media, Natasha Coyle

As you start to create Instagram Reels or Tik Tok videos, you may notice that trying to add images directly through their editors isn’t really the best idea. When you add still images to these editors, the quality often goes down. That’s why I created a tutorial on how to add still images to your Reels with Canva! I won’t lie to you: I filmed this as a bonus for my Reels Bootcamp, so you’re getting a little epek right now of what kind of content you can expect in the Bootcamp, if you aren’t already a member!

How to Add Still Images to Reels with Canva

When you’re ready to create a new Instagram Reel or Tik Tok using still photos, here’s what you should do. Create a new design and find the video slideshow option. Resize what comes up as an “Instagram Story” so that it’s the right size for posting online. Now, you’ve got a slideshow template for your Reel (or Tik Tok). When you’re ready, begin to add your images from your gallery on Canva. After you’re done adding the images, you can edit the time of each image’s appearance in the video by using the timer/clock icon above the images. I recommend shortening them to 2.0 seconds. Once you’re happy with how it looks, download the MP4 file and get it onto your phone. From there, you can add it to the Reel or Tik Tok!

And that’s it! It’s seriously as simple as that. Watch my tutorial for a step-by-step:
